abOUT ELLIE
Ellie is an American first and a natural blonde second. She is a longtime cast member of the New York company of Mischief Theatre’s international smash hit The Play That Goes Wrong. She has headlined New York City’s top cabaret venues including Feinstein’s / 54 Below and The Green Room 42. She is also a professional voiceover artist and a Fellow of the Witness Institute, a prestigious program for emerging leaders to continue the legacy of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel.
Ellie is the creator and star of Happy Birthday, Mr. President!, a raucous comedy cabaret tour of American history. After developing the show in New York cabaret spaces, Ellie took the show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022. The show received rave 5- and 4-star reviews and was listed in the Top 10 Best Reviewed Shows at the Fringe.
Ellie comes from a military family but unfortunately found theatre too early to follow either of her parents footsteps into the service. She’s been performing since she was 5 and in therapy since she was 16. She’s lived all over America and don’t ask her where home is because she doesn’t know. (She was born in Kansas though!) She went to Rutgers University and graduated with a Bachelors in English and History and then got herself further in debt by attending the New School for Drama’s MFA program in Acting.
If she wasn’t doing this she would probably be a minister. Still could happen!
She is not the Australian supermodel. She is significantly shorter and 100% more American.

“Every August (well, almost) Edinburgh becomes a hotbed of the top talent from around the world. To stand out from the crowd takes something exceptional. ELLIE MACPHERSON IS MOST DEFINITELY OUTSTANDING AND EXCEPTIONAL.
MacPherson shimmers like a human glitterball with a powerful voice that grips her audience – this girl can really sing! What’s more, she is original and very, very funny.
She is glorious in her storytelling, in her banter with the audience and her understanding of football chants here in Scotland. The song lyrics are often ‘modified’ to better reflect the stories and are all superbly sent up or worshipped in MacPherson’s dazzling vocals.”
THE EDINBURGH REVIEWS ARE IN!
“A fast-paced blend of pop-song mashups and riotous trivia. Undeniably nerdy, this cabaret-cum-history lesson is an energetic look into the human side of these proclaimed “great men” of history. You are sure to learn something from this genre-defying historical satirist.
“A wit that could wither a sitting president’s goolies from a hundred yards! Excellent and often hilarious parody, charm, and beautifully sung songs. An entertaining, enlightening and classy show.
“Ellie MacPherson is a new name to me but, from the moment she saunters onto the stage, dressed as Marilyn Monroe, to deliver the titular song, I’m sold. MacPherson has a terrific voice and a genuinely thrilling vocal range.
THIS IS A TERRIFIC SHOW: absorbing, informative, and often laugh-out-loud funny. CATCH IT IF YOU CAN.
“Ellie MacPherson has created A JAM-PACKED HOUR OF ENTERTAINMENT. MacPherson effortlessly oozes glamour, but is also not afraid to play the clown. She has a stunningly powerful voice that would be at home on any West End stage. IT’S A GREAT HOUR OF CABARET.”
“Ellie MacPherson is the new Bachelorette of the Edinburgh Fringe 2022! Except, this time her line up of men consists of all of the Presidents of the United States of America.
THIS CABARET STYLE PERFORMANCE WAS A MASTERFUL PIECE OF ACTING AND STORYTELLING. The audience quickly learns that this won't be your run of the mill comedy show, as it combines theatre, powerful vocals, and witty comedy.
This show was incredibly entertaining, as, much like the fantastic show Six, it combines history with a quirky persona, witty comedy, and songs that you can't help but dance to!”
